Ballet performance "Salt of the Black Earth" based on the film by Kazimierz Kutz of the same title, directed and choreographed by Artur Żymełka.

Kutz's film refers to important events in the history of Poland - the Silesian Uprisings, which took place at the time of the formation of the Polish State. Their importance both at the premiere of the film in 1969 and today is marginalized in the broad consciousness of Poles. That is why it is important that contemporary art once again refers to the patriotic speeches of the Silesian people who shed their blood 100 years ago for belonging to Poland.

The scenic transformation of the film with reverence refers to the prototype, emphasizing the strength of tradition, family ties, firmness of characters and the depth of the sense of regional identity, which are characteristic of Silesia. In the face of the 100th anniversary of the Silesian Uprisings, creating a performance based on the icon of Polish filmography becomes justified in commemorating Kutz's image and history.

A modern performance is a show of respect for past heroes and a chance to restore the memory of uprisings and Polish history to future generations.

Spektakl baletowy „Sól ziemi czarnej” na kanwie filmu Kazimierza Kutza o tym samym tytule, w reżyserii i choreografii Artura Żymełki.

Film Kutza odnosi się do ważnych wydarzeń w historii Polski - powstań śląskich, toczonych w momencie formowania się Państwa Polskiego. Ich znaczenie tak w chwili premiery filmu w 1969 roku, jak i dziś, jest w szerokiej świadomości Polaków marginalizowane. Dlatego ważnym jest, by współczesna sztuka ponownie odniosła się do patriotycznych wystąpień ludności śląskiej, przelewającej przed 100 laty krew za przynależność do Polski.
