Giacomo Puccini chose the play of the same name by V. Sardou as the basis for the libretto for the opera Tosca. This great story of love and betrayal, clothed by the Italian composer in the opera genre, has not ceased to excite the hearts of people around the world for more than a century.

Vanity, seductive, naive, romantic, but also determined, the opera diva Tosca does not hesitate to stab the insidious police chief Scarpia in the chest, as well as to follow in the death of his beloved Cavaradossi. Music critics describe Puccini's masterpiece as a "unique portrait of the actress", with the lyrical culmination of Tosca's "Prayer", in which she professes her faith in the power of art and love.
