Fransa’nın önde gelen klasik müzik topluluklarından Metz - Grand Est Ulusal Orkestrası, Şubat 2023 depremlerinden etkilenen müzisyenlerle dayanışma için Türkiye’ye geliyor. Institut français Türkiye ve İstanbul Kültür Sanat Vakfı’nın (İKSV), İKSV Enstrüman Destek Fonu yararına düzenlediği “Umut Notaları” konserinde sanat yönetmeni David Reiland’ın şefliğindeki Metz – Grand Est Ulusal Orkestrası, genç ve başarılı piyanist Can Çakmur’a eşlik edecek. Konserde ayrıca 2022’den bu yana Cemal Reşit Rey Konser Salonu'nun genel sanat yönetmenliğini üstlenen şef ve besteci Murat Cem Orhan da konuk şef olarak yer alacak.

İstanbul’da gerçekleştirilecek konserden elde edilen gelir, depremden etkilenen 11 şehirdeki güzel sanatlar liselerinin ve konservatuvarların müzik bölümlerinde eğitim alan veya eğitmen olan ve depremde enstrümanı hasar gören veya kaybolan öğrenciler ve müzik eğitmenlerine enstrüman alınabilmesi için İstanbul Kültür Sanat Vakfı (İKSV) tarafından başlatılan İKSV Enstrüman Destek Fonu’na aktarılacak.

1976'da kurulan ve Metz'deki Arsenal'in yerleşik orkestrası olan Metz – Grand Est Ulusal Orkestrası, David Reiland'ın sanat ve müzik yönetmenliğinde, 72 müzisyeniyle, kendi bölgesi olan Grand Est’in yanı sıra Fransa'nın genelinde ve dünyanın farklı ülkelerinde her yıl yaklaşık 85 konser veriyor. “Bölgenin ulusal orkestrası” unvanını taşıyan topluluk, geniş bir izleyici kitlesine hitap eden iddialı bir müzik ve dans projesi olan Cité Musicale-Metz'in de bir parçası.

2018 yılından bu yana Orchestre National de Metz Grand Est’in müzik ve sanat yönetmenliğini yürüten David Reiland, çağdaş müzikle unutulmuş bestecilerin eserlerini günyüzüne çıkararak harmanladığı sıradışı konser programları ile tanınıyor. 2012-2018 yılları arasında Lüksemburg Oda Orkestrası’nın müzik direktörlüğünü üstlenen Reiland, 2024 yılına dek sürdüreceği Metz Grand-Est Ulusal Orkestrası’ndaki görevinin yanı sıra, 2021 yılından bu yana Kore Ulusal Senfoni Orkestrası’nın da müzik ve sanat yönetmenliğini üstleniyor. Sinfonietta Lausanne ve Düsseldorf Senfoni Orkestraları’nın 1. konuk şefi olan Reiland’ın sürekli işbirliği içinde olduğu orkestralar arasında Belçika Ulusal Orkestrası, Capitole de Toulouse Ulusal Orkestrası, Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, Münih ve Berlin Radio Orkestraları gibi pek çok seçkin orkestra ile opera şefi olarak Seul, Cenevre, Antwerp, Leipzig ve Berlin Operaları bulunuyor.

Konserde konuk şef olarak yer alacak Murat Cem Orhan, lisans eğitimini Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Devlet Konservatuvarı Opera/Şan Bölümü'nde, yüksek lisans eğitimini İstanbul Üniversitesi Devlet Konservatuvarı ve ABD'nin New York şehrinde Brooklyn College of Music'te tamamladı. Ardından Mimar Sinan Üniversitesi Devlet Konservatuvarı Kompozisyon ve Orkestra Şefliği bölümünde Antonio Pirolli'nin Orkestra Şefliği sınıfında yüksek lisans öğrencisi oldu. 2018 yılında Paris'te düzenlenen 4. Evgeny Svetlanov Uluslararası Şeflik Yarışması'na katıldı ve finale kalan 8 şeften biri olmayı başardı. Türkiye’de bulunan tüm Devlet Senfoni Orkestraları ve Devlet Operaları ile düzenli olarak çalışan Orhan, 2015 yılında Heidelberg Sinfonietta ile Fazıl Say’ın eserlerini yönetti. Orkestra şefliğinin yanında bestecilik kariyerini de sürdüren Orhan, 8. ve 9. Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı Ulusal Beste Yarışması'nda art arda iki kez birincilik ödülü kazandı. Orhan, geçtiğimiz yıl Cemal Reşit Rey Konser Salonu'nun Genel Sanat Yönetmeni seçilmişti.

Konserin solisti Can Çakmur, 2018’de 10. Hamamatsu Uluslararası Piyano Yarışması ve 2017’de İskoçya Uluslararası Piyano Yarışması'nda Birincilik Ödülü aldı. Kariyeri boyunca Londra'da Wigmore Hall, Glasgow Konser Salonu, Eindhoven Muziekgebouw, Tokyo'nun Suntory Salonu ve Louis Vuitton Vakfı gibi birçok prestijli konser salonunda ve festivallerde yer aldı; 43. İstanbul Müzik Festivali’nin açılış konseri solisti oldu. BIS Records için gerçekleştirdiği kayıtları, uluslararası basın tarafından büyük övgüyle karşılandı ve tarihte bir ilke imza atarak “Yılın Solo Kaydı” (2019) ve “Yılın Genç Sanatçısı” (2020) dallarında art arda iki Uluslararası Klasik Müzik Ödülü’ne (ICMA) layık görüldü. Yakın dönemde Yomiuri Nippon Senfoni Orkestrası ile Thomas Ades’in “Yedi Günde” adlı yapıtının Japonya prömiyerini gerçekleştiren Can Çakmur, Tokyo Senfoni Orkestrası ile Festa Summer MUZA’nın kapanış konserleriyle büyük beğeni topladı. Kazandığı ödüller arasında Donizetti “Yılın Genç Müzisyeni” Ödülü, Weimar Franz Liszt Üniversitesi DAAD Ödülü ve İKSV Aydın Gün Teşvik Ödülü bulunan Can Çakmur, Güher-Süher Pekinel Dünya Sahnelerinde Genç Müzisyenler burs programından yararlanıyor.

Metz - Grand Est National Orchestra, one of France's leading classical music ensembles, is coming to Turkey in solidarity with musicians affected by the February 2023 earthquakes. In the “Notes of Hope” concert organized by Institut français Turkey and Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) for the benefit of the İKSV Instrument Support Fund, Metz – Grand Est National Orchestra, conducted by artistic director David Reiland, will accompany the young and successful pianist Can Çakmur. Conductor and composer Murat Cem Orhan, who has been the general artistic director of Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall since 2022, will also take part as guest conductor at the concert.

Proceeds from the concert to be held in Istanbul will be used by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) to purchase instruments for students and music instructors who were trained or trained in the music departments of fine arts high schools and conservatories in 11 cities affected by the earthquake, and whose instruments were damaged or lost in the earthquake. Established in 1976 and the resident orchestra of the Arsenal in Metz, Metz – Grand Est National Orchestra, under the artistic and musical direction of David Reiland, with 72 musicians, in its own region, Grand Est, as well as throughout France and in different countries of the world. David Reiland, who has been the music and art director of Orchester National de Metz Grand Est since 2018, is known for his extraordinary concert programs that blend contemporary music with the works of forgotten composers. Reiland, who was the music director of the Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra between 2012 and 2018, has been the music and artistic director of the Korean National Symphony Orchestra since 2021, in addition to his duty in the Metz Grand-Est National Orchestra, which he will continue until 2024. Murat Cem Orhan, who will be a guest conductor at the concert, completed his undergraduate education at Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory Opera/Singing Department, his master's degree from Istanbul University State Conservatory and Brooklyn College of Music in New York, USA. He participated in the 4th Evgeny Svetlanov International Conducting Competition held in Paris in 2018 and became one of the 8 finalists. Working regularly with all State Symphony Orchestras and State Operas in Turkey, Orhan conducted the works of Fazıl Say with the Heidelberg Sinfonietta in 2015. Continuing his career as a composer as well as conducting, Orhan won the first prize twice in a row in the 8th and 9th Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı National Composition Competition. Orhan was elected the General Artistic Director of Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall last year.

The soloist of the concert, Can Çakmur, received the First Prize at the 10th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in 2018 and the Scotland International Piano Competition in 2017. Throughout his career, he has performed at many prestigious concert halls and festivals in London such as Wigmore Hall, Glasgow Concert Hall, Eindhoven Muziekgebouw, Tokyo's Suntory Hall and the Louis Vuitton Foundation; She became the soloist of the 43rd Istanbul Music Festival's opening concert. His recordings for BIS Records were highly praised by the international press, and were awarded two consecutive International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) for "Solo Record of the Year" (2019) and "Young Artist of the Year" (2020), breaking new ground in history. .
