The opera Väntarna is suitable for children from the age of 3 and is a poetic story about wanting to be loved and liked. Some much-loved dolls and teddy bears are waiting for their owner Katarina. When she doesn't show up, the toys start to worry. What has happened? Doesn't Katarina like us anymore, wonders the Crocodile, the Budgerigar, the Rabbit, the Bear and Trasmaja. We get to follow the whole gang in their antics while waiting for Katarina to come back. Everyone wants to be her favorite, but now everyone feels abandoned. BRING YOUR STUFFED PET Being able to hold your own stuffed animal can be cozy while we get to know the characters who have suffered from longing for their owner. INSPIRED BY THE CHILDREN'S IDEAS The play The Waits was written in 1975 by the writer, poet and playwright Werner Aspenström. Based on the play, an opera was made in 1989 which was staged by a class at the Opera College in Gothenburg. The music was composed by the prominent composer Lars Johan Werle, who is known, among other things, for the musical Animalen where Tage Danielsson was responsible for the lyrics. The direction in this set is inspired by the children's ideas, which were put to use in the workshop Det magiska OM 2020.
