Biography
Rivers Hawkins is a South Carolina native currently residing in Bloomington, Indiana. He recently completed his graduate studies while working as an Associate Instructor at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, where he was seen as the title role in Handel’s Giulio Cesare, Leporello in Don Giovanni, and Capitán in Florencia en el Amazonas, as well as in productions of Peter Grimes, Dead Man Walking, It’s a Wonderful Life, and Mass. At the Jacobs School he participated in Opera Workshops directed by Carol Vaness and Heidi Grant Murphy, while in Bloomington he has also appeared as the bass soloist in Fauré’s Requiem and Bach’s Cantata BWV 182, “Himmelskönig, sei willkommen.” This summer he will join the Santa Fe Opera as a member of the Apprentice Singer Program, The Sa
