Sofia Tumanyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia. In 2011, she graduated the piano department of the Komitas Yerevan State Conservatory with a bachelor’s degree. From 2009 to 2014, studying under the guidance of Maestro Gegham Grigoryan, she graduated from the Department of Classic Vocal Music of the State Conservatory, receiving her bachelor’s and master’s degrees with honours. Since 2016, she has studied under the guidance of Maestro Antonio Lemmo. She is a soloist at the Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. Since 2010, as a soloist of the Sharakan spiritual ancient music ensemble, she has performed at the Cankar Hall in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and St. Hripsime Church in Vienna, Austria, and toured throughout Armenia (conductor: Daniel Yerazhisht).
