A witty libretto and heartfelt music - a work that is deservedly called "the queen of operettas" is now in the repertoire of the Glinka Theater.

The Merry Widow is considered the finest creation by Franz Lehár. “Although it has been written now, it is also brilliant ... A splendid thing,” - this is how Sergei Rachmaninov once estimated this work. Bringing world fame to the Austro-Hungarian composer, the operetta was translated into ten languages ​​and repeatedly filmed.

At the Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet Theater, "The Merry Widow" is staged by Alexander Lebedev, diploma winner of the Golden Mask National Theater Festival (St. Petersburg).

“The world of our performance is modern in spirit, but at the same time it resonates with the aesthetic realities in which this story could well develop. A cheerful, cheerful, recognizable and in some places naive fairy tale for adults awaits the audience, ”said the stage director.

The original scenery was created by the Honored Artist of Ukraine Sergey Spevyakin (Donetsk).

The bright and memorable costumes were developed by the Honored Artist of the Khabarovsk Territory, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia Natalya Syzdykova (Khabarovsk).

The dance numbers were staged by Lyudmila Tsvetkova (Irkutsk), laureate of all-Russian and international competitions of choreographers.

The lighting solution was proposed by Boris Mikhailov, a laureate of the Rostov branch of the Melpomene STD (Rostov-on-Don).
