The fairy tale of » Sleeping Beauty « is certainly one of the most famous and popular fairy tales in the world. There is hardly a people who cannot show the story of the king's daughter, who was cursed to sleep for a hundred years, in some form in its cultural history. It forms the basis for Engelbert Humperdinck's grandiose opera setting from 1902.

The King and Queen look forward to the celebration of their long-awaited daughter's name with joy. The king invited the twelve fairies, but did not invite the evil fairy Demonia. But she appears full of hatred and curses the child: in fifteen years it will stab itself on a spindle and fall into a deep sleep. A hundred years later, the young Prince Reinhold hears about the sleeping beauty and feels in himself that he alone is destined to free the king's daughter. Will he succeed in this difficult task, will the "Sleeping Beauty" and the prince find each other and be happy together forever until the end of their days?
