Mara and Tara have just become friends when someone new shows up: Kirsa. But the boy somehow behaves differently than all the other children the two girls know. Because Mara and Tara don't like his kind, they don't want anything to do with Kirsa either. When he realizes this, he withdraws into himself. But Mara cannot stop meeting him. She has become curious and wants to know more about this new and yet so interesting boy. Kirsa's music was composed by composer-in-residence Thierry Tidrow especially for the Junge Oper ensemble, which was founded in 2019. What is special is that in this composition he concentrates solely on the human voice and leaves instruments out - Kirsa's music is an a cappella opera! In this way, the young listeners can consciously engage with the different voices of the singers and in this way also musically perceive the subtle differences between Kirsa, Mara and Tara. After the performance, there is an opportunity for a follow-up discussion with those involved in the production. On March 25th, 2022 there will be a performance as part of Up your ears, get set, go! , Festival and Conference of Young Operas Rhein-Ruhr. The production can be seen both at the Dortmund Opera and as a mobile production in Dortmund's kindergartens.
