It is with great pleasure that Aarhus Summer Opera can present a re-enactment of our very successful production of  Mozart's DON JUAN  as our performance this year. A landmark work that has aroused enthusiasm and wonder for centuries. 
 
DON JUAN is based on the legend of the unscrupulous woman seducer who embarks on an adventure with the sole purpose of conquering women's hearts. Added to Mozart's music, the opera has gained status as one of the greatest masterpieces in our cultural heritage.

Mozart's operas have been one of the cornerstones of Aarhus Summer Opera's repertoire over the years. With the company's first production in 1988, Cosi fan Tutte, a tradition of Mozart's productions was established, leading to highly acclaimed productions by Don Juan in 1989 and 1990, La Clemenza di Tito in 1998, Cosi fan Tutte in 2012 and Le Nozze di Figaro. in 1999 and 2010, culminating in two of the company's most successful productions to date - Cosi fan Tutte in 2000 and 2001 (winner of the Reumert Prize for "Best Opera" in 2001) and The Abduction from Seraillet in 2003 and 2005 (nominated for a Reumert in 2004 ).

The production is a re-enactment of the performance from 2019, which was created in collaboration with Egnsteatret Undergrunden and which received excellent reviews (see below).
