On the eve of Richard Wagner's 200th birthday, Christian Thielemann conducted the Staatskapelle Dresden in the Semperoper overtures and great tenor scenes from Wagner's Dresden operas. He was supported by Jonas Kaufmann, one of the most sought-after Wagner tenors of our time.
In memory of Hans Werner Henze (1926-2012), the Capell composer of the Staatskapelle Dresden, his orchestral piece "Fraternité: Air pour l'orchestre" was also performed.
